Introduction

The powerful new program InterForm creates elegant electronic data collection forms for the Internet of unlimited size. InterForm creates a Web-server program in the form of a CGI, providing both security and flexibility for your form. InterForm takes advantage of many of the html formatting options to give your survey a professional, polished, and attractive look only found on high quality web pages. The main form design screen allows creation and editing of all the questions and pages in a form. All standard question types are supported including multiple choice, text entry, number entry, weighted score, ranked order, list boxes, plus unique unlimited comment write-in's. In addition, new form control options such as If-Then-Show, If-Then-Error, and Skip-by-Response allow the designer to guide the respondent accurately and quickly through their form. The number of questions and pages are unlimited. InterForm supports standard web servers, including both IIS and Apache web servers running on Windows, Linux, or Unix platforms. Consider InterForm as the equivalent of the SurveyWin authoring program for Internet usage: numerous, flexible options for display choice and validation accuracy.

Special Features

• You can decide whether to show or hide a page based on the responses to any previous questions using the If-Then-Show feature.
• You can decide to skip to a different page based on the response of a question using the Skip-by-Response feature.
• Our advanced Bookmarking features allows users to leave an unfinished survey and return to their survey right where they left off. Users create their own IDs and Passwords allowing both security and privacy.
• You may check the Link option within form design to have the respondent automatically jump to the next page as soon as the question is answered.
• Enter your own HTML tags in a plain-text question (or other type question) to insert images, horizontal rules, and other items to give your form that unique feel.
• Our advanced response checking features allows easy detection and filtering of invalid responses. You can require a certain length, characters only, a number range, and much more. You can even define invalid responses using the If-Then-Error feature.
• You may check the Link option in form design to have the respondent automatically jump to the next page as soon as the question is answered.
• The various form design wizards make question creation and form design both easy and intuitive.
• Saves data after each page, so that if the Internet goes down the data is saved. The participant can re-enter if you allow that option.
• The Percent Completed feature gives the user a running status bar informing the user how much of the form they have completed.
• Numerous page formatting options such as fonts, links, and placement will give your form that unique look. A Save Style option lets you save both question and response font and formatting options for easy reuse and consistency throughout the form.
• The Ask and List feature allows automatic filling of questions based on user identification.

Form Design

• Design questions as yes/no, multiple choice, open-ended comment, weighted score, date, time, numeric format, check all that apply, rank order, or borrow from existing question libraries.
• Jumps (branching) to a different question or page depending on answers to a selected response

Web Capabilities

• Compatible with all standard web servers, including Apache (Windows, UNIX and LINUX), and Microsoft IIS (Windows NT).
• Use CGI tools to keep track of your web survey, viewing real time statistics such as how many people have taken the form, are taking the form currently, have unfinished forms, etc.
• Track who has responded to the web survey and easily send out emails to those individuals or those not responding
• Choose appearance options such as background, font, title, banners, tables, etc.
• Use special JavaScript functions for validating data and form flow
• Select bookmarking so respondents can leave in the middle of the questionnaire and re-enter later to finish
• Saves page by page, so that in the event of a crash no one can lose more data entry than the open page
• Use the pre-authenticate feature to allow you to only accept users who have been approved by your system
• Select the Redirection on Completion to let you send the user to a premade .cgi program when they complete a survey, allowing you to track who has taken a survey by department, gender, or any other question response.

Powerful Database Management

• Define your destination database in any location to provide security to your survey. Your database may even reside in directories that are not accesssible through the web to protect your data.
• InterForm automatically backs up your data in a second database
• Incomplete forms are not added to your master database until they are finished.
• Database format is DBF and can be imported/exported as ASCII for compatibility with all standard database programs
• Use the CGI Tools program to handle and view your various data files.

Statistics and Analysis

• Quickly create a 2 or 3D Summary displaying pie, horizontal, and vertical bar charts, or view tables
• Display graphs and tables simultaneously on the same screen
• See your comments with Word Count options
• View the sum, average, standard deviation and other functions for each appropriate field in Analysis
• Explore the vast array of reporting features and options available in Raosoft's EZReport program, including customizable analysis and reports.

System Requirements and Technical Specifications

• Uses Win9X, NT; Takes 2 MB of hard drive space.
• You will need access to a web server for posting a web form. Supported web servers include Apache and Microsoft IIS running on Windows, Linux, or Unix.

Example of Usage

InterForm has been used recently by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force for their world wide web data collecting for a combined Climate survey and Quality of Life survey. The questionnaire had approximately 500 questions and approximately 150,000 respondents answered.

New Features for Easier Design

Global Editing for Selected Questions
Four new features have been added to InterForm to enhance the form design process.

• Modify | Responses allows you to assign a given response scale to a group of questions.
• Modify | Question Text globally edits question text for a group of questions. It allows you to quickly find and replace or find and overwrite for selected questions.
• Modify | Question Font modifies the font in question text and globally edits for selected questions.
• Modify | Page Text copies and removes multiple text objects on selected pages.
  
  Other New Features
• Fonts Wizard Box A check box is added to center text relative to response length.
• Combine allows you to place two questions side by side horizontally, across the screen for two columns.
