File: Calculations...

You can have a form that performs calculations on questions that have number codes (i.e. write-in number and weighted score), and then stores the results in a write-in number question.

Setting up calculations

  1. Select File | Calculations from Form Design.
  2. In the Questions box, select the question you want to store the result of your calculation, then click the <-- arrow key to send it to the Result box.
  3. Next, use the remaining questions on the right-hand side and the operators given to make a formula. For example:
    Result     Equation
    AVERAGE    (Q1 + Q2) / 2
  4. Click the Save button to use the equation.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for as many calculations as you want to perform.
  6. Select the option, Calculate only if all variables are non-blank if you do not want to do the calculation until the respondent enters every field in the equation box.
  7. Select Close to save your calculation templates.
