Introduction

EZReport, Version 2007 is a user-friendly and flexible statistical report writer and was developed to give non-experts as well as experts the ability to produce custom reports, and to give speed to advanced users. The menu system allows fast, intuitive reporting, e.g., analyses for novices and additional statistical support to experts. Using its point-&-click object-oriented method, end users do not require training. They may employ basic analysis or the more advanced statistics that are also available.

EZReport is unique in that it provides presentation quality reports as well as fast statistical analyses. Reports may be given almost immediately to higher management.

Reports may be saved as templates for future re-use with different data, printed, exported, or be saved in Adobe PDF format for web site posting and distribution. A report template and the power of command-line interface and scripting supports batch report production and multiple query support for automatic bulk printing.

Access and analyze web-based survey data gathered with EZSurvey for custom and default reporting on your local PC.

There is no program limit to database size. It provides powerful extra reporting and analysis for owners of Raosoft EZSurvey, InterForm, and SURVEYWin or for anyone who works with DBF, ASCII or ODBC databases. Improved XML report files assist integration of EZReport with other applications. Copying/pasting of multiple objects to Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is supported.

All commands are menu-driven, and all program functionality uses WYSIWG (What You See Is What You Get) functionality so no programming experience is necessary. Primary menu features for analysis, statistics and data-specific analysis is included.

Analysis Menu:

The Analysis menu contains all the tools necessary for creating custom tables, bar plots, pie charts, histograms, and crosstabulations. You may place multiple views of the same or different question results on the same page. You have full design control of the pages. You may place comments on the same page(s) with charts.

You may analyze both quantitative and qualitative (comments) data.

  • Plot-Creates a new bar plot, pie chart, table, or histogram. You can set the properties of a chart or plot to vary the details provided to the reader.
  • Crosstab-Allows the viewing of results for two or more questions together.
    • A crosstab is a way of showing the results of two or more questions together. You can use a crosstab report to look for relationships within your sample.
    • A crosstab may be plotted as a stacked bar charts and the number of comparisons for the bars are limited only by the screen/page considerations rather than program limitations.
    • Stacked bar charts can pivot from vertical to horizontal display and vice versa.
  • Question Summary is a fast and powerful tool for analyzing large numbers of questions and records. The summary includes tables of response counts and percentages for selected questions or all questions. You may use this as an executive summary capability.
  • Question Analysis allows you to view a text summary of your data results, with queries applied or sorted.
  • Crosstab Analysis allows you to view crosstabulation(s) of unlimited rows and columns.
  • Custom Response Plot will bring up a dialog that allows you to group or sum the responses to a question, e.g., you can sum all the positives together.
  • Custom Weighted Plot allows you to aggregate responses to weighted-score questions into one response to create indices and groups.
  • Group Pareto Plot-Provides you with a bar plot comparison of the groups you have composed sorted from high to low.
  • Custom Calculation allows you to take data from your questions and use it to calculate other numbers you may need for your report, e.g., you can calculate static numbers (such as 3+4=7) or find the ratio between two weighted-score questions, or you can create new variables from your existing responses.
  • Compose Queries-Creates new queries, which are saved specific to the project for re-use. Query is extremely powerful with almost unlimited slicing and dicing.
  • Compose Groups-Groups multiple questions together for reporting purposes. You may create an index. Groups that are composed are saved specific to the project, so that you may reuse a created group at a later time.
  • Comments-Analyze comments with qualitative analysis. You may use crosstabs to display comments by other questions, or use comment metrics to examine word count and response count. Query lets you prepare detailed reports by segmented category. You may save your comments in the current report or in a text file. The length of comments is not limited by the EZReport program so may be unlimited.
  • Comment support includes the ability to automate multi-page reports combining extensive comments and numerical analysis, in one step. No need for manual intervention to determine page breaks. Command-line interface and scripting lets you batch report production and email the reports automatically to the correct persons. Query and crosstabulation options are available for use in preparing the reports for automatic distribution.
  • Comment reports are easily possible for reports that show extensive comments alone, using the automatic paging, for presentation quality reports.
  • Instant dynamic report generation is supported. You have several options. You can access and analyze web-based survey data gathered with EZSurvey for custom and default reporting on your local desktop computer. Or, you can use plug-in modules of EZSurvey to produce reports of current online data in PDF format automatically: A CGI script returns the web data so that EZReport can dynamically update the report file. Reports in PDF format are then possible automatically. The process lets you provide on-going reports with ease and timeliness.

Statistics Menu

The Statistics menu contains all the advanced statistical functions for data reporting.

  • One Question Hypothesis Testing-Enables you to determine whether a sample parameter has changed or differs from a particular value.
  • Two Question Hypothesis Testing-Test the significance of the difference between questions.
  • Analysis of Variance-Performs the ANOVA test.
  • Correlation Matrix-Calculates correlation between selected questions.
  • Chi-Square-Performs a Chi-Square test and displays the crosstab table.
  • Multiple Regression-Performs multiple regression analysis and calculates the linear regression equation coefficients and constant.

Data Menu

The Data menu allows individual cases in the database to be reported on rather than aggregated.

  • Add Text-Add boilerplate text or a text item from data originating from one question in the current database.
  • Add Calculation-Allows you to create a new calculated value for a single record or multiple records in the current database.
  • Next Record-Changes the data displayed to that of the next record in the database.
  • Previous Record-Changes the data displayed to that of the previous record in the database.
  • Browse Database-Shows all fields and records in the database and their values in a spread sheet format.

Special Features
