How to - List CGI

When you publish you have the option to include the List CGI on the web site. The List CGI lets you view the web data in real-time. It lets you query the data and select individual records to look at.

Instructions:

  1. Select Publish Create a web form
  2. From the Web form setup window select the option View the database online
  3. Select the Passwords button. The Advanced web form options window will open.
  4. Select the option Include the LIST program for data viewing.
  5. Enter a password in the box labeled Password for viewing the online database.
  6. Do not enter any other passwords on this window. (The other passwords are not for the List CGI program and will affect the survey in different ways).
  7. Press the Save button and continue to publish as normal.

After you publish the survey to the web site you will be able to use the List CGI program to view the online data. The publishing instructions will have a link to the List CGI.

From The Website:

  1. Click on the link in the publishing instructions to use the List CGI program. The link will look something like this: 
    http://www.raosoft.com/cgi-bin/list.cgi?DATABASE=projectname&_ACTION=LIST&_PASSWORD=password
    Where projectname is the name of the project and passwords is the password that you entered in the box labeled Password for viewing the online database.
  2. The List CGI program will be named either list.cgi or list.exe depending if you are on a UNIX or Windows server.
  3. After you click on the link you will see a screen that says EZSurvey Database List. At the top of the page it has a query form to examine the database.
  4. The data that shows in the table are response codes to the survey question fields.
  5. Click on the View link on the left-hand side of the screen to view a single record in detail.
